Watch out Chicago, the Heiple's are here

This weekend Jason, Olivia, Joseph, and I went to Chicago. This was our first vacation since Joseph came home from the hospital last August. We REALLY needed a weekend away! Here are highlights from our vacation...

First, on Saturday, we went to Navy Pier. We walked around the pier, played at the Children's Museum, and had some dinner.






Then, on Sunday, we went to the Brookfield Zoo. Olivia LOVED walking around and seeing all of the animals. She couldn't wait to see the monkeys! Joseph was intrigued, but did not know what to think. Later Sunday night, we went and walked around Oak Brook Mall and treated ourselves to a delicious dinner at The Cheesecake Factory...YUM!












On Monday, we went to The Shedd Aquarium. Once again, Olivia LOVED seeing all of the animals. She couldn't wait to see the sharks and dolphins!











Before packing up and coming home, we took a walk down by Lake Michigan and let Olivia and Joey play in the sand and water. This was Joey's first experience with sand and he didn't know what to think at first, but later found to love it. Olivia was trying to build a sand castle.







Finally, we loaded up the car and headed home. These pictures are proof that we had a WONDERFUL trip away! It was so nice have quality family time with all four of us. If you asked Olivia what her favorite part was...she would say swimming at the hotel.





On the way home from our vacation, we were able to detour to El Paso and meet Grandma and Grandpa Sennott for dinner and sneak over to Grandma and Grandpa Heiple's to tell Grandma happy birthday!
