Cornfest 2010

This weekend, Livi, Joey, and I headed up north to El Paso for the 2010 Corn Festival. We had a full and very fun weekend. We started our weekend Friday night at the spaghetti dinner. We met Great Grandma and Grandpa, Kelly, Rick, Jake, Stephanie, Grandpa Dressler, and Grandma and Jim there for dinner. After dinner, we all traveled up town to all of the carnival rides. Great Grandma and Grandpa bought Olivia a ride band that allowed her to ride any ride she wanted. She had a great time! Olivia had the opportunity to meet and ride with her cousin, Zachary, and went on a "big girl" ride with grandma Huber.

That night, we stayed with Kelly and Rick in Bloomington. Olivia LOVES staying with Aunt Kelly and Uncle Rick. She loves to tease back and forth with Uncle Rick. A BIG thank you to Kelly and Rick for opening your home to us and for the delicious chocolate chip muffins!

On Saturday morning, we all headed up to El Paso again for the Corn Festival Parade. Livi and Joey got a ton of candy. Not only did they get candy, but they also got a webkinz, Zandy Bands, bubbles, and bottled water...WOW have parades changed since I was a kid! Uncle Mark, Jay, Katie, and Jim were also able to join us at the parade. Olivia hadn't seen Katie (her Godmother) for almost a year now, so it was so nice to be able to visit with her, and everyone!

Bigger and Better

Olivia began gymnastics again after a two month break. During the months of July and August we were SO busy with vacations, school starting, and Jason was babysitting; that what we thought it was best to take a break. Livi was extremely happy to be back and start a older class with a different teacher. Here is our gymnast...

Doggie School

Jason has been training the dogs. Ollie does well with sit and lay down, Bella is working on sit and STAY, and Zoie is working on knowing her name and sitting. What a crew!

Here Zoie, Zoie

Zoie has been in the Heiple family for a week now and is doing great! She has already doubled in size since we got her and Zoie has become very close to Bella. Ollie still tends to ignore her, but has played with her a few times. Zoie 's absolutely least favorite thing to do is take a bath. She is a wonderful addition to the family!

Monkey See, Monkey Do

Joey LOVES doing what his big sister and daddy do. The other morning daddy was brushing his teeth for work, so Joey pulled his stool over, grabbed his toothbrush and started brushing. Good daddy/Joey bonding time!

The Newest Member of the Heiple Clan...

Today the Heiple clan grew to a family of 7! We adopted a beautiful puppy named Zoie. Zoie is an eight week old German Shepard. She is the sweetest little girl! Olivia and Joey love her (Olivia has become quite the mommy-notice she is in all of the pictures of Zoie). Ollie and Bella get along with her very well. Ollie is a typical older brother and just ignores her and Bella is excited to have someone her size to play with. It will be fun to watch them all grow up together. I attempted to take a picture of everyone (note the first picture), but it turned out kind of blurry. Two young children and three young dogs move a lot :)

The First Days of School

On Wednesday, Olivia and Joey had their first day of school. Olivia is now in the 4-year-old preschool class at Good Shepard Preschool. She is SO excited to be in the 4 year old class and then be in "mommy's school" next year! She has three new teachers this year, Mrs. Monari, Mrs. Bane, and Mrs. Tucker. Livi also has a couple of friends from her old class in her class which put her at ease about going. To top it off, she gets to go on a field trip!

Joey is in the 2-3 year old Funshop (mommy and me class). Olivia joined Funshop when she was 2 1/2 and then went right into 3 year old preschool. Joey will do the same. I cannot believe my babies will be in kindergarten and preschool next year! Joey had a blast at Funshop. The moment we walked in he stopped in his tracks and looked all around. It was like walking into Toys R' Us, but you could play with everything. I think that this class will be very good for him!
