Plantin' the flowers

Yesterday, Olivia, Joey, and I decided to start planting flowers in our flower pots. This is the first year that we could put flower pots on our back patio! (the little things excite us around here) Olivia worked very hard to make our flower pots look beautiful, Joey worked very hard to entertain us. Here are some pictures:

Bitter Sweet

This week mom sold her house in Bloomington. We were all very excited that she was able to finally sell it and not have to worry about the upkeep of two houses, but it is also sad because of all of the memories made there. Mom and I were talking on the way home yesterday about all that happened in that house. Jason and I met, Mom and Jim met, that was the first place Olivia and Joey went to see grandma, I lived there when I started college, that is where I got ready the day of my wedding, etc. It is very weird to think that other people will be living there.

On the other hand though, with mom's new house in Sherman begins another set of wonderful memories! Here are the last pictures of Olivia and Joey at 54 Ventnor Avenue!

March of Dimes 2010

Yesterday the Heiple clan headed north to Bloomington. We participated in the March of Dimes for the second year in a row. Our team had 6 members; Grandma and Jim, Uncle Rick, Olivia, Joey, and me.

I have to say that this was another amazing experience for us. Seeing and talking with all of the families with preemies, helps you to not feel alone in the struggles and worries. The host family this year just lost their daughter, Molly, who was born at 23 wks, just 1.6 lbs. When Molly's mother told her story, I shared her tears remembering the fight our little man had just 2 years ago.

Olivia and Joey had a blast. They loved looking at all of the people, taking a long, relaxing walk, and then of course the jumping house was their absolute favorite. I believe Olivia went on it 4 times.

We would like to thank EVERYONE who sponsored us, and to everyone who continues to pray for our family! We will continue to march every year in honor of all those babies who fight for their lives everyday!

Joey's New Moves!

This Saturday, my mom and Jim got married!!! I will have lots of pictures to share soon, but I had to share this video. At the reception Joey showed everyone some new moves that he had prepared just for the occasion. Jas and I have never seen him dance like this. We were all laughing hysterically!

Helping Hands

On Sunday night, Jason, Olivia, and Joey built an outside toy box for all of Olivia and Joey's yard toys. Olivia and Joey got such a kick out of playing inside the toy box! To my surprise Olivia wanted to lay in the box and close the door all the way...this coming from a kid who is afraid to go into her dark room! Nonetheless, it served as a nice play pen for about 20 minutes!

Happy Birthday Joey...Part 2

I know, I know, I am a week late on sharing the rest of Joey's birthday pictures.

Last Tuesday, Joey started his second birthday by waking up bright and early in the morning and opening presents. He got some Star Wars bobble heads, a fun car puzzle, a sit and spin, lots of cars, some clothes, a Leap Frog movie, sandals, and a Fisher Price fire truck. I think that Joey's favorite presents were his new sandals, and all of his cars.

Then after I came home from work, we sang happy birthday to Joey and had cookie pie. Joey LOVED his cookie pie! I thought the kid would have a major tummy ache after eating so much cookie!

It was a quiet laid back day for Joey, but it was really nice to have a small family celebration!

Happy Birthday Joey Part 1

On Saturday, we celebrated Joey's 2nd birthday. That's right you saw it correctly...2nd birthday! Everyone came down to celebrate his big day. We had beautiful weather, and the party was great. Joey had a St. Louis Cardinal baseball party. Great Grandma and Grandpa, Grandma and Jim, Grandpa and Pattie, Uncle Jake and Stephanie, Aunt Kelly and Uncle Rick, Kristen and Jillian, and Brittany came to help us celebrate Joey's day. Here are pictures from his day...
