This Saturday, Jason and I brought Olivia and Joey to The Great Pumpkin Patch in Arthur, Illinois. We also brought Zoie so we didn't have to worry about her having an accident in her crate. In the past we have gone to the Apple Barn, but since Olivia and Joey are getting older, we thought they would enjoy all of the activities at The Great Pumpkin Patch.
We got their about 11:00 and as soon as we got there, we had a picnic lunch. Then we walked around and went through three of their four mazes, explored the historic school house, went into the haunted house, treated ourselves to a delicious dessert at the bakery, and picked out our pumpkins. It was a great place to visit and will definitely have to become a fall tradition!
After visiting the Great Pumpkin Patch, we headed to Rockome Gardens. I have not visited the gardens since I was in grade school, so it was nice to be able to go back. Olivia and Joey loved their large playground, the trains they could climb around on, the Amish buggy, and of course the bakery. Olivia got the opportunity to learn a little bit about the Amish culture and ask a few questions.
On the way out of town, we stopped at an Amish Farmer's Market. At the market I bought the largest Mum that I have seen. We were also able to buy some homemade treats! We had an amazing day together and will definitely make it a tradition!
