Rocketpolooza 2010

Yesterday, Olivia, Joey, and I went to the Rocketpolooza over at the high school. The Rocketpolooza is a fun little fair that the school and local vendors put together before the first Rocket football game of the season. This year they had a lot more inflatable jump house activities that Olivia loved. Some of her good friends were there and she just ran around and played with them. Joey and I hung out because he is still scared to ride rides and jump in the jump houses. Hopefully next year he will be over his fear.

Ribbit, Ribbit

On Wednesday, I discovered a new pet hanging around our house. I was out mowing and all of the sudden our new friend "ribbit" scared me to death when he hopped in front of the mower. I am used to little toads hopping around, but this one was a little bigger! Joey loved him and kept saying "ribbit, ribbit" (thus the name), but Olivia screamed at the top of her lungs.

We put him in a bucket and brought him to the pond down the road.

mmmmm.....corn!

Olivia and Joey have become corn on the cob fanatics! One night they each ate 2 each! I am so glad I found a vegetable that they both love to eat.

Til next year State Fair!

Yesterday, Uncle Jake, Stephanie, Nicholas, Mom, Jim, Livi, Joey, and I headed to the State Fair for the last time this year. Mom and Jim bought Livi and Nicholas ride bands that allowed them to ride any ride from 11-5. They had a blast running around and riding anything they wanted. They also climbed through a jungle gym, played games, and of course did the bungy jump. Livi and Nicholas were also able to ride a pony.

Joey enjoyed riding/walking around watching people, napped, and played some games. Hopefully next year he will want to ride the rides.
After the State Fair, we all headed back to mom and Jim's house to hang out and eat supper. Brittany, Ryan, and Jason were able to meet up with us too. Livi, Joey, and Nicholas LOVED running around the backyard and playing on the jungle gym. They even had a water fight and got absolutely soaked!

A big thank you to mom and Jim for treating us to a great day at the fair and for opening their house up to us.

But baby it's cold outside???

Olivia told me this week that we needed to move to Alaska so it wouldn't be so hot outside and we could build a snowman. Friday, I came home from school and she was wearing her gloves, hat, and scarf...I think someone is ready for fall and winter to come.

Little Musician

Joey is our little musician. He loves to play the "phone" (saxophone), piano, drums, and guitar. He definitely has a lot of his father's blood in him!

"Belaxing"

Nothing like "belaxing" with a good book!

School Days

That's right, you read it right, school has begun. Though it is sad to leave Livi, Joey, and Jason; I was ready to get back into the routine and get on a schedule. I have a fantastic group of kids and I am excited for the year ahead! Here are a few pictures of my classroom before the kids came:

Some Good Reading!

Today I noticed that the house got very quiet and thought it would be best to find Mr. Joseph and see what he was up to. I came to find him in the office reading the encyclopedias. This kid yearns for knowledge and is constantly learning new things. I often wonder what plans God has for this little boy.

Fun at the Fair

Sunday night mom, Jim, Jas, and I brought Livi and Joey to the State Fair. It was a beautiful night to walk around, check out the exhibits, have supper, and ride some rides. We also brought Livi and Joey to the petting barn so they could pet the animals.

Olivia was able to choose 4 rides that night and of course her number one choice was the bungy jump. She has become such a daredevil!

We ended the night with a yummy ice cream dessert and two exhausted kids. This coming Saturday we will have one more opportunity to go to the fair with Jake, Steph, and Nicholas.
