I have to say, this weekend the Heiple's were party animals! We had a weekend full of fun activities and parties.
To start the weekend, on Saturday, we went to a birthday party for one of Olivia's best friends, Colleen. We went over to her house for a delicious cook out and the kids just played and played.
After the birthday party we went to the Rochester Fourth of July parade. We were a little worried about the constant rain, but it stopped right before the parade...phew! Olivia got a TON of candy, popsicles, bracelets, and Joey actually got a beanie baby from someone. We were excited to see that our friends, the Tweryons, were the parade marshalls. Brooke was in the NICU the same time Joey was, and Hadley and Olivia became friends in the waiting room. Brooke has had a long road, but looks and is doing FANTASTIC!
Finally, Saturday night we went downtown to see the Capital fireworks. Olivia and Joey were both in awe. We knew Olivia loved fireworks, but this was Joey's first viewing.
On Sunday, we went to the Rochester Sparks in the Park Festival. We met up with the Zeibert's and the girls were able to ride the rides (even Joey went on his first carnival ride...the giant slide). Then we sat down for a little dessert picnic and let the kids run around and have fun (aka get energy out!) We brought some sparklers for the girls to light and make a fireworks show of their own. Finally, at dusk we enjoyed the Rochester fireworks display.
We had a weekend packed full of 4th of July fun, and today we are recovering!
