Memorial Day Picnic

On Saturday, Olivia, Joey, and I went to a Memorial Day picnic at Aunt Kelly and Uncle Rick's house. It was nice spending the day with Great Grandma and Grandpa, Kelly, Rick, Mom, and Jim. We had a delicious lunch and dessert, swam, played, and relaxed. Thank you Kelly and Rick for opening your house up to us!

Hmmm....that looks good!

Joey LOVES his sister and wants to be where she is, play what she's playing, and eat what she is eating. The other morning he took eating what she's eating to a new level...stealing what she's eating.

School's out for summer....!

Ahhhh.....summer break! I had a fantastic class this year, but despite that, I am still extremely excited about summer break. I love having time to play with Livi and Joey, time to get the house organized, and time to do home improvements.

To start our summer break off right, Olivia and I went and got a manicure and pedicure. Livi sat in her own chair for the first time and let the young lady do her nails. She was SO proud of herself!

Keepin' Cool

Sunday was a hot one here in Springfield, Illinois. I was stubborn and refused to turn the air on because according to the weather channel things should cool off by Wednesday. We did turn the window unit on in the toy room to have a cool room for Livi and Joey to play in and relax in. We also pulled out our pool today. Olivia and Joey LOVED splashing around in the shade! After swimming we sat back on the patio and had icicles.

"Belaxing"

This weekend the weather was beautiful! Olivia, Joey, Ollie, and Bella got to play outside every day and "belax" as Olivia would say. Summer is here!

Picture Perfect!

"Budderfy"

Last week Olivia, Joey, and I went to Grandma and Jim's house to bring them their belated wedding present. While we were there we decided to let the "budderfys" (as Joey says it) go. All five of the butterflies came out of their cocoon this week and it was time to let them fly free. Olivia would not get anywhere near the butterflies, but Joey was fascinated. He really wanted to hold one so we put one on his shoulder. His response was adorable!

The Snuggle Bugs

This morning the Heiple's snuggled up and stayed warm. What a chilly, rainy day!

The Very Hungry Caterpillars

When Grandma and Jim went on their Honeymoon to Branson, they visited a butterfly garden. At the garden, they signed up to receive caterpillars, so Olivia and Joey could watch them spin into their chrysalis' and then turn into beautiful butterflies. Pretty soon we will have five Painted Lady butterflies!

School's Out for Summer!

On Friday, Olivia had her very last day of 3-year-old preschool. What a bitter sweet time! My baby is growing up faster and faster, but yeah it is summer break! For the last class, they had a picnic at Rochester Park. Jason brought Olivia and Joey to the picnic and I met up with them during my prep period at school (I couldn't miss Livi's last day at school!) Livi and Joey LOVED running around and playing with all of the kids!

Olivia received her very first report card, and she did a fantastic job! She knew all of her shapes, colors, all but one letter in her name, positional words, could hold her scissors and cut lines, and all of her behavior marks were satisfactory! This summer we need to continue working on her lower case letters/sounds, writing her name, and lengthening her attention span with activities.

It is hard to believe that this August she will be in 4-year-old preschool and then off to Kindergarten...Yikes!
