Bad hair day

This is what happens to your hair when you use food as your hair gel.

Who needs toys?

Why do children need toys when boxes amuse them for hours?

A little boy

Joey is becoming more and more like a little boy, no longer a baby. Last night he was sitting on the carpet just playing quietly by himself. It is hard to believe that he will be 1 year old in 2 weeks! Before I know it he will be 16 and asking for the car keys.

There were four in the bed and the little ones said...move over!

On Sunday mornings Jason and I often get booted out of bed by our two mini-me's. Olivia and Joey love to snuggle into our bed and stay warm, while we have to get up and get ready for church.

Happy Spring?

This morning we woke up to a surprise...SNOW! Olivia woke up and declared that it was Christmas Eve, but we assured her that it was indeed spring, although Mother Nature missed the memo.

Olivia, Joey and I made the best of it, and went out for some snowy fun. This was Joey's first snow experience, and he didn't quite know what to think. Olivia LOVES the snow and would be content with snow year around.

Happy Easter, Easter Bunny

Saturday evening, Jason and I took Olivia and Joseph to see the Easter Bunny. As always, Olivia was more than happy to talk to the Easter Bunny from a distance, but did not want to sit with him. Jason sat with her again so we could at least get her picture with him.

This year Olivia thought that the Easter Bunny was hungry, so she brought him some carrots to snack on. She loved it when the bunny ate them in front of her. She said he went "yum..yum..yum.."

Must find eggs!!!

This Saturday, I brought Olivia and Joseph to my school for an Easter egg hunt. Colleen, Brooke, and Ashley were also there which was a special treat for Olivia. She also got to see Hadley. The girls had fun hunting for their eggs, and were especially excited when they figured out there was candy in each egg.

Olivia was a nice sister and helped Joseph get an egg. As you can see, Joseph wanted more than one egg.

The girls (and Joey) just want to have fun!

This Friday, Olivia and Joey had a fun play date with their friends Colleen, Brooke, and Ashley. The girls love spending time together, and Joey and Ashley, despite being babies, play very nicely together. Children their age really don't know how to play and share, but surprisingly they do a nice job.

Olivia, Colleen and Brooke had all kinds of tea parties, played in the toy room, and had a slumber party. The best part of the evening is when we played High School Musical 3; Colleen, Brooke, and Olivia gave us quite a concert.

High School Musical here we come!

Today Jason and I took Olivia to Champaign to see High School Musical on Ice. What a great way to end my spring break! Olivia was SO excited and loved every minute of it. The people around us not only got to see the show, but also got a separate concert from Olivia. They continuously chuckled at her singing EVERY song.

Olivia saved up some money to buy a couple of souvenirs. She purchased a microphone that lights up when you sing into it, and a Wildcat Barbie!

It was so nice to be able to treat her to a show like this. I think I got more pleasure watching her get so excited about it, than the show itself.

Joey got the treat of spending the afternoon with grandma, Jim, and Brittany. He got them all to himself!

A girl who knows how to relax!

This week was my spring break. It was a very relaxing and productive week. Olivia really got into the relaxation mode.

Queen of the dirt mound

As Jason takes on this HUGE project, Olivia has been his right-hand man. This is her helping daddy "spread" the dirt around.

The Best of Friends

Today it was a BEAUTIFUL 70 degree day outside and we soaked up every moment of it. Olivia and Joey had a play date at the park with their friends Colleen, Brooke, and Ashley. Then two more friends, Hadley and Brooke, joined us. Yes, poor Joey, the only boy once again, but he handles it well!

It was so nice to get out and play with everyone! It was really nice to see Hadley and Brooke. We know them from the NICU. Brooke was born a little early with pretty significant breathing problems, and was in the NICU just as long as Joey. It was so amazing to sit back and see these miracle babies thrive. Ashley, Joey, and Brooke are all the same age, and could very well end up in the same class.

Olivia really enjoyed seeing Hadley. They really bonded in the NICU waiting room. She came up to see her sister every night like Olivia visited Joey. Due to the babies needing to stay in for the winter, the girls have not had a chance to see each other for a while. She was in heaven having all of her close friends playing with her at the same time. All four girls got along very well!

If only this weather was here to stay! Unfortunately tomorrow it is supposed to cool down and stay in the high 40's/low 50's the rest of the week.

Let the fun begin...

This week Jason began tearing up our backyard. When we moved in we had a large above ground pool in our backyard. Then last year we decided we didn't use it enough to justify the expense so we sold it. Well as you know last year was a VERY hectic year for us, so we never had the chance to fix up the yard.

Well this week I am on spring break, so Jason decided it would be a good time to start on the yard. He rented a bobcat and dumpster and got to work. Here are a few pictures of our project. Consider these the before pictures and hopefully we will be able to show you after pictures sooner than later!

Ollie and Bella sit back and look in disbelief wondering what their dad is doing to their yard.

Happy Anniversary Grandma and Grandpa Sennott!!!

This weekend Olivia, Joey and I went up to Bloomington for the night. We celebrated my grandparents anniversary. It was so nice get out of Springfield for the night. We really haven't had many chances since Joey came home. Unfortunately Jason had to work, but it gave him a nice quiet night to himself and he got a full night sleep for the first time since Joey came home.

While we were in Bloomington, mom, Jim, and I were able to take Olivia and Joey to the park. My aunt and uncle were able to join us which was a lot of fun for the kids...more adults to give them attention! Here are some highlight pictures of our trip...

Let's Go to the Park!

Today Olivia and I brought Joey to the park for the first time! He loved it! I would say his favorite part was playing in the rocks. We had to remind him that rocks don't taste very good, but he loved picking them up and letting go. Joey also got his first boo boo. He was sitting in the fire truck reaching for the steering wheel and fell. He has a pretty good bruise on his forehead...one of many to come I am sure.Olivia had a great time as always. I like to take her to my school's playground that has age appropriate equipment for preschoolers. This allows Olivia to do things on her own and run around by herself. Here are some pictures of our day:
